A former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader recently passed away.
Krystal Anderson, who was a Chiefs cheerleader for 10 seasons at Arrowhead Stadium, died at the age of 40 due to childbirth. She and her newborn child died within days of one another.
She had been pregnant for 21 weeks before doctors couldn’t find a heartbeat for the child, and her daughter was born at rest.
Her husband, Clayton Anderson, feels “lost.”
“I feel lost,” Anderson said, via FOX4 KC. “There’s a lot of people in this house and it feels empty.”
Krystal cheered for the Chiefs from 2006-11 and 2013-16. She cheered in over 100 games and even represented the Chiefs at the Pro Bowl in 2015.
She also served as a captain of her team during her time with the Chiefs.
“She was absolute magic in every sense of the word,” best friend Shanna Adamic said. “She brought it on the field. She brought it to her friendships, she brought it to our tours we had around the world.”
Anderson worked in an alumni role with the team after she stopped being an active cheerleader.
Our condolences go out to Anderson’s family and friends.
