The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been afraid to make intriguing trades on the first two days of the 2024 NFL draft.
After trading with the Buffalo Bills in the first round, Kansas City looked to its recently defeated Super Bowl rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, to make a deal on Day 2.
In exchange for San Francisco’s No. 63 and 211 picks, the Chiefs sent its No. 64 and 173 selections to the 49ers.
While this move only got Kansas City one choice ahead in the second round, the player that general manager Brett Veach selected could be a game-changer for the Chiefs.
BYU tackle Kingsley Suamataia was the pick, taken off the board by Veach with the No. 63 pick when the trade was finalized.
Users on social media sites were surprised to see that Kansas City was able to make a deal with one of its most bitter rivals for a second straight day.
