Let’s play early!
The Royals are taking on the Tigers in a rare Friday afternoon game (rare outside Wrigley Field) to avoid conflicting with the NFL draft in Detroit tonight.
Seth Lugo goes for the Royals, coming off his first loss of the year.

The Tigers are off to a good start just like the Royals, and like the Royals they have done it with pitching. Reese Olson gets the call this afternoon, having struck out 15 in 11 2⁄3 innings with a 3.09 ERA in two no-decisions against the Royals last year.
Carson Kelly was scratched with left ribcage soreness, but is available for the game.
