It will be like old times.

The Royals swept the Orioles in the Wild Card series on Wednesday to advance to the American League Divisional Series where they will take the Yankees in a best-of-five series. The Yankees won 94 games this year and are the top seed in the American League, and the winner of the series will take on the winner of the Tigers/Guardians series. The Yankees won 5 of the 7 regular season matchups against the Royals this year.

We now know when the Royals/Yankees games will take place. The series begins with Game 1 on Saturday, October 5 at 5:38 CT at Yankee Stadium to air on TBS and Max. That is 17:38 in military time, and if you’re a long-time Royals fans, you’ll know that number became a rallying cry for the team in 2015.

Game 2 will air on Monday, October 7 at 6:38 CT at Yankee Stadium on TBS, truTV, and Max. That game takes place the same evening as the Chiefs Monday Night Football game at Arrowhead Stadium against the Saints.

The series then moves to Kansas City for Game 3 on Wednesday, October 9 at a time to be determined. Game 4, if necessary will be on Thursday, October 10 at Kauffman Stadium at a time to be determined. Both of those games will air on TBS, truTV, and Max.

If the series goes the full five games, the series-deciding game will be Saturday, October 12 at Yankee Stadium at a time to be determined, to air on TBS and Max.

The Royals and Yankees were bitter post-season rivals in the 1970s, facing each other in the American League Championship Series four times, with the Yankees victories in 1976, 1977, and 1978, and the Royals finally besting them for the pennant in 1980.
