We are about a third of the way into the season, past the Memorial Day weekend when the pennant race begins in earnest, according to conventional wisdom. The Royals are certainly in the hunt, despite one of the worst offenses in baseball.
Has the success been due in part to their skipper? Or has it been in spite of him, with his decisions holding them back? Last week we asked Royals fans to grade manager Matt Quatraro, and nearly a majority of fans gave him a solid “B” grade.
Another 22 percent gave him an “A”, 20 percent gave him a “C” and 8 percent gave him a “D”. The manager is failing with an “F”, according to 2 percent of fans. Tough crowd!
