The dreadful homestand mercifully concludes
The Royals have lost all 5 games on this homestand so far, and they conclude the homestand today. They have Monday off before heading to Texas, for 3 with the Rangers, and then 3 out in San Diego. The Royals have lost 7 of their last 8, 8 of their last 10 and 11 of their last 16.
The A’s had lost 14 straight road games before winning the first two in Kansas City. They also have had one of the worst pitching staffs in all of baseball but have held the Royals in check all series so far. The A’s are looking to become the second team to sweep the Royals this season. The Yankees swept the Royals twice.
The Royals are currently 2.5 games out of a wild card spot and are three games under .500 at 34-37. They are in desperate need of a win today, as they haven’t won since last Sunday in Chicago, a game which I declared a must win, today I do the same, it is a must win for the Royals.
It’s gotten so bad, that after another disappointing shutout loss yesterday, the Royals held a players only meeting postgame. Hopefully that does something positive for the Royals.
#Royals held a players only meeting following today’s loss.

Noah Cameron had been sensational this year but hit a little roadblock against the Yankees on Tuesday, he will try and pitch like he has for the most part this year and lead the Royals to a much-needed win. Here is how the Royals will line up behind him.

The Athletics have a formidable offense to their credit, although they still lose a lot because of their dreadful pitching, but that hasn’t been the case this weekend so far. For a team that at one point had lost 19 of 20 and had only 6 wins since May 10th before this series, they look like a top team in the American League.
Left hander Jeffrey Springs starts for the Athletics today. Here is the line up behind him.

No matter what happens this afternoon, happy Father’s Day to all those out there! Enjoy it with your father, or children if possible. Hopefully the boys in blue can give you a W on your day.
