Today’s links are all about Kansas and Bill Self. I was a little shocked by some of the headlines I found when doing a Google News search for Self. It would seem that, for possible the first time since his Bucknell and Bradley losses, there is real pressure on Self headed into next season.

Bill Self admits transfer portal mistakes after Kansas bounced in first round of March Madness
Kansas entered the 2024-25 season as the nation’s No. 1 team and a preseason championship favorite after it added the third-ranked transfer portal class to a roster that returned key veterans in Hunter Dickinson, Dajuan Harris and KJ Adams. However, the pieces never gelled in Lawrence, and a loss to Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament finalized the Jayhawks’ record at 23-13, the program’s worst since 1982-83.

What is Bill Self’s buyout? Moving on would cost Kansas big-time
Expectations, as they always are, were high for the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2024-25 college basketball season, especially knowing that this was Hunter Dickinson’s final year of eligibility. After what went down on Thursday, we can officially say that the Jayhawks did not live up to their lofty standards.

Reliving the worst Kansas basketball season in the Bill Self tenure
Here are a few words that might relieve the Jayhawk faithful — Kansas will not play a basketball game for more than seven months. That news is terrific for any fan who had to live through this team. But those who can stomach the terrors that they’ve witnessed over the past six months, let’s relive the disastrous season that the 2024-25 Kansas basketball team had.

The Kansas Jayhawks suffered a brutal end to their 2024-2025 college basketball season. After being named preseason No. 1 in the AP poll, the Jayhawks were bounced in the Round of 64 on Thursday. They became just the second preseason No. 1 to get ousted in the Round of 64 since Kansas did it again in 2005, when they lost to Bucknell, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Following the gut-wrenching loss, KU head coach Bill Self vowed to make some changes.

Arkansas collapse should be all Kansas needs to finally realize the truth about Bill Self
Bill Self has over 1,000 career wins as a college basketball head coach. Kansas’ first-round exit in the NCAA tournament has some people questioning if he can truly win under pressure.
