We’re truly in unprecedented times with the cancelation of March Madness due to the coronavirus outbreak. Kansas star guard Devon Dotson is in disbelief.
Dotson – one of the stars of the top-ranked Jayhawks – was gearing up for the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday before the conference canceled the event. But the cancelation of conference tournaments was simply a foreshadowing of what was to come on Thursday evening.
The NCAA’s cancellation of March Madness has sent student athletes into shock – especially those who play for teams that were expected to make a deep run in the tournament. Kansas was one of those teams.
Naturally, Dotson can’t believe the unreal news. He posted a haunting reaction to the NCAA’s unfortunate announcement on Thursday evening:

Kansas was the overall favorite to win the NCAA Tournament this year. But we’ll never know if the Jayhawks truly were the best team in the country.
Obviously, the NCAA – along with the NBA – made the right and necessary decision to protect public health. The risks associated with the coronavirus are simply too great. This is one of those moments where some things are bigger than sports.
It’s going to be a long few weeks without sports to entertain and distract us all.
