Anyone who follows college football has to be surprised about what is going on in Manhattan, Kansas this afternoon. Not only is Kansas State competing with Oklahoma, they are currently blowing them out.
It is 48-30 Wildcats with 12:30 left in the fourth quarter. Kansas State has outscored OU 24-7 in the second half, turning a 24-23 halftime lead into a sizable advantage.
ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit weighed in on the game on Twitter. While Herbie said he expected the Wildcats to give the Sooners a game, he did not figure they would perform like this.
“We knew @KStateFB would compete today at home vs @OU_Football but THIS?!?? Up 41-23 with the ball at OU 33 start of the 4th!” he wrote.

If Kansas State holds on, the Big 12 might be out of the College Football Playoff race. Perhaps Oklahoma could still make it with one loss if it wins the conference title game, but the Sooners’ chances will be slim on paper.
