Truman Griffith (b. June 30, 2005) is a young defensive end who redshirted and did not play in 2024 in order to add more weight and muscle. (He also shares a birthday with yours truly, so Happy Early Birthday to both of us!)
Griffith prepped under head coach Joel Applebee at Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, where he was part of four state championship teams. He also competed in powerlifting.
He earned honorable mention all-state honors as a junior from Sports in Kansas and The Wichita Eagle when he posted 37 tackles, including 9.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Griffith prepped at the same high school as current K-State safety Mikey Bergeron, offensive linemen Gus Hawkins and Sam Hecht, and former K-State place kicker Chris Tennant.
Griffith walked on at K-State over offers from Central Arkansas, New Mexico State, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State and Southeast Missouri State, as well as interest from Eastern Illinois, Kansas and Wyoming. Learn more about his road here ($).
