Bradley Stanyer (b. April 16, 2007) is a freshman defensive end who plans on majoring in finance. I expect him to redshirt and not see any game action in 2025.
Stanyer prepped under head coach Bob DeBesse at Grapevine High School, where he was viewed as the 108th-best edge defender in the country for the Class of 2025 by On3.
He earned all-district honors as junior after tallying 91 tackles, six tackles for loss, five sacks and a forced fumble for the Mustangs.
Stanyer played at the same high school as current K-State offensive lineman Drake Bequeaith. He also competed in basketball and track as he threw shot put and discus.
Stanyer chose K-State over offers from Air Force, Army, Cornell, Montana, Texas State, Texas-Permian Basin and Yale, as well as interest from Pittsburgh, SMU and TCU.
His primary recruiter was his position coach, defensive ends coach Buddy Wyatt.
GoPowercat.com’s Ryan Wallace had nice things to say about Stanyer when he committed:
Balanced in his pursuit abilities and in holding assignments against the run, Stanyer shows quality bend for a prospect his size and ample power and strength for someone carrying considerable room to develop both physically and mentally. … Consider the following: Stanyer played some nose tackle, at Texas’ highest classification, at under 240 pounds as a senior… and did not get pushed around. Gritty strength in both his lower and upper body, Stanyer is not the type to get bullied in run defense. … K-State’s support staff seems very intrigued by Stanyer’s potential. He won’t be needed right away and that’s just fine by the coaches, but if things fall in line the way the staff hopes, he could hit the ground running in two years.
Sure sounds like Stanyer is a great candidate to join Travis Bates and Chiddi Obiazor at that inside defensive end/defensive tackle hybrid position to me!
