Maguire Richman (b. Jan. 17, 2007) is promising young linebacker from Blue Valley High School who reported to camp this summer and thus is likely to redshirt during 2025.
He prepped under head coach Allen Terrell at Blue Valley, where he was viewed as the 85th-best inside linebacker in the Class of 2025 by ESPN, while Rivals ranked him the eighth-best overall prospect in the state of Kansas and the Kansas Football Coaches Association named him to its Top 11 team. Said Terrell of his star linebacker:
Maguire is the best football player I have ever coached — his preparation, leadership, and production were unprecedented in my time here at BVHS.
Richman earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior from The Wichita Eagle, Sports in Kansas, and KSHSAA Covered after he recorded 132 tackles, an interception, one sack, three forced fumbles and two blocked punts as a junior (and a great sophomore year, too!).
He finished his career as the Tigers’ all-time leading tackler with 353 total stops and was named a finalist for the 2023 Simone Award as the top player in the Kansas City metro area.
Here’s what former recruiting analyst Jeremy Crabtree had to say about his consistency:
We called BV games twice this season, and he was the most consistent player on the field. Always making an impact.
Richman, who plans on majoring in mechanical engineering, prepped at the same high school as current K-State wide receiver Sterling Lockett, running back JB Price and fellow linebacker Beau Palmer.
He picked K-State over offers from Iowa, Memphis, North Dakota State, Toledo, Tulsa and Wyoming, as well as interest from Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.
Richman’s brother, Mason, was an offensive lineman at Iowa and was selected in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
