Three Big 12 football players were arrested over the weekend in separate events. All three players attend Kansas State.
Kansas State running back Jacardia Wright, linebacker DeMarrquese Hayes, and linebacker Nick Allen were all arrested on Saturday night, according to a report by the The Wichita Eagle. This is obviously not an ideal situation for Wildcats head coach Chris Klieman, who’s coming off his first season leading the program.
Wright was arrested by Kansas State campus police for a failure to appear at 3:49 a.m. on Sunday. He was issued a $500 bond.
Hayes was arrested by Riley County police at 9:55 p.m. on Saturday for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol. He reportedly wasn’t confined following the arrest and no bond was listed.
Allen was also arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was released on a bond of $1,500.
Wright played in three games as a freshman, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown. Allen played in all 13 games last season, contributing on defense and special teams. Hayes is an early-enrollee who signed with the program in December of 2019.
