John B. Price IV (b. Nov. 2, 2005) is a talented young running back from Blue Valley High School who redshirted and did not play during the 2024 season amid a deep backfield.
He is vying with Monterrio Elston Jr., Antonio Martin Jr. and DeVon Rice to be No. 3 back.
Price played at the same high school as former K-State wide receiver Andre Davis, current wide receiver Sterling Lockett, and linebackers Beau Palmer and Maguire Richman.
He prepped under head coach Allen Terrell at Blue Valley, where he was regarded as the 11th-best all-purpose back in the Class of 2024 by Rivals, while ESPN rated him as the fourth-best overall prospect in the state of Kansas.
Price earned honorable mention all-state accolades as a senior from The Wichita Eagle, Sports in Kansas and KSHSAA Covered. Learn more about him in this GoPowercat podcast.
An honorable mention all-state selection as a junior from the Eagle, he rushed for 1,979 yards and 20 touchdowns during his final two seasons, in addition to hauling in 35 catches for 253 yards and another four scores. Price also competed in track and field for the Tigers.
Price selected K-State over regional offers from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska and Oklahoma State, as well as interest from Iowa State and Oklahoma. His primary recruiter was his new position coach, Brian Anderson, assisted by recruiting director Taylor Braet.
