The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in Super Bowl LIX, where Taylor Swift is expected to be in attendance cheering on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Chiefs.
But there’s another spectacle that will garner the attention of viewers: the Super Bowl halftime show, headlined by legendary rapper Kendrick Lamar and featuring special guest Sza.
There are fans holding out hope that a certain pop superstar could also join Lamar on stage, especially considering she’ll already be in attendance.
Swift and Lamar have collaborated in the past, where Lamar was featured on a remix of her Grammy-winning song, “Bad Blood” from her “1989” album in 2015.
While Swift has worked with Lamar in the past — and the NFL would love it — it’s unlikely that Swift will perform with Lamar at halftime.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes explained why it’s unlikely Swift will be performing at this year’s halftime show.
“As long as (Travis Kelce) is playing and we’re in the Super Bowl, it’s going to be hard for her to do the halftime show,” Mahomes said. “So, hopefully, Trav keeps playing and we keep making it to the Super Bowl.”
