Could the fullback position return to the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense in 2024?
The defending Super Bowl champions signed running back-fullback hybrid Carson Steele, a former Ball State and UCLA standout, after the NFL draft, which could be a signal that Andy Reid wants to explore the possibility of adding a blocker to his backfield next season.
Steele, who was a prolific running back at Ball State, transferred to UCLA in 2023 to play under Chip Kelly as a versatile weapon in the Bruins’ backfield.
He ran for more than 1,500 yards and scored 14 touchdowns as a Cardinal in 2022, but only managed to take 41 carries at UCLA last season.
Chiefs fans were thrilled with Brett Veach’s decision to sign Steele after the 2024 NFL draft and took to social media sites to express their excitement.
