In the three seasons he’s been the starting quarterback for the Chiefs, the team has at least reached with AFC title game. With two Super Bowl appearances and Lombardi Trophy under his belt, some would suggest Mahomes doesn’t need help from anyone else.
However, the former NFL MVP made it abundantly clear he’s still learning. In an interview with Kevin Clark of the Ringer, Mahomes said he still talks to two NFL quarterbacks for advice.
From the Ringer:
“I think people don’t realize all us guys talk. I talk to Aaron, I talk to Tom and they’re willing to give me advice,” he said. “I’m still a young guy in this league. I’m still trying to learn how to continue to have success every single year and so being able to talk like that with the guys is definitely a good thing.”
It’s a good lesson for all young NFL players. No matter how much success they’ve had in the past, they can always learn something from the elder statesmen in the game.
Mahomes couldn’t have chosen two better players to take advice from.
