From the outside looking in, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may come across like a “party animal.” That’s not necessarily the case, according to Patrick Mahomes.
During an appearance on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast, Mahomes opened up about Kelce’s personality.
Mahomes acknowledged that Kelce knows how to have fun when he’s not on the football field, but he’s also very intelligent. He doesn’t want that to go unnoticed.
“He puts on this persona, I’m partying, drinking, whatever, but he’s really super intelligent,” Mahomes said, via Page Six.
Mahomes later said that he can’t keep up with Kelce when it comes to partying. After all, he has two children to take care of with his wife Brittany.
“I used to, I think, and then I had kids,” Mahomes said.
Kelce’s behavior away from the gridiron hasn’t affected his production on the field. In fact, he was rewarded this week with a two-year extension that’s worth $34.25 million.
“I’m so excited and so thankful to this organization for getting it done, making me feel appreciated and compensated the right way, and on top of that I got to move the needle for the tight end room,” Kelce said.
If the Chiefs pull off a three-peat next season, Kelce will have earned his right to party.
