The Kansas City Chiefs will pick at the end of the first round of the draft for the second season in a row. Generally speaking, it’s tough to find talent in the latter half of the first round. The Chiefs, of course, have a glaring need at the left tackle position.
Every draft class is different, but history tells us that it will be exceptionally difficult to find a starting left tackle at pick No. 31. Since 1938, before the AFL-NFL merger there have been a total of 14 offensive tackles selected at pick No. 31 and the results leave a lot to be desired. Recently, teams have had greater success, but that has been at the right tackle position and not at the left side.
