Monday Musings: Temperature check-in on the offensive line

June 24, 2025 by Arrowhead Pride

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Let’s discuss how we’re feeling about the Chiefs’ potential starting offensive line now that OTAs have come and gone.

With 2025’s organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp behind us, we’re now looking forward to Kansas City Chiefs training camp, with a report date set for Monday, July 21.

This offseason, the most significant topic of debate surrounding the Chiefs was how they would address any issues with their offensive line. So let’s review what we now know:

  • Left tackle: First-round rookie Josh Simmons is ahead of schedule, and he is set to compete with veteran Jaylon Moore for the starting job.
  • Left guard: Second-year lineman Kingsley Suamataia has moved inside, and he looks to be the favorite for the position. Head coach Andy Reid has maintained that Mike Caliendo will compete with him. Hunter Nourzad could be a dark horse here.
  • Center: Creed Humphrey
  • Right guard: Trey Smith (at this time, Kansas City is continuing to work towards a long-term deal)
  • Right tackle: Jawaan Taylor should return for his third straight season as the starter, though perhaps Moore could be in the mix if Simmons does win the battle on the left side. Wanya Morris and Ethan Driskell could be other names to watch here.

So… how are you feeling about the offensive line? Please weigh in below in the comment section.
