The Kansas City Chiefs found their newest weapon for Patrick Mahomes in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft by selecting Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
The speedy Longhorn legend set the 40-yard dash record at the combine in March and saw his draft stock soar in April before Kansas City took him with the No. 28 pick last week.
Even after signing veteran wideout Marquise Brown earlier in the offseason, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach traded up to secure Worthy’s services, indicating Kansas City’s confidence in the Texas product’s potential.
Worthy took his first tour of the Chiefs’ facilities shortly after being drafted by Kansas City, and was seen posing by his locker with a No. 1 jersey in hand.
Then, Worthy was photographed gazing at the Chiefs’ four Lombardi Trophies.
These pictures got Kansas City’s fans pumped up on social media sites, causing many to speculate about the role Worthy can be expected to play in Andy Reid’s offense next season.
