Chiefs WR Rashee Rice shares reaction to season-ending knee injury

February 14, 2025 by Chiefs Wire

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been out of action since tearing his LCL early in the season. He was the team’s top target before the injury and was sidelined for Super Bowl LIX, but he provided an update on his status during an interview with Muscle & Fitness writer Jeff Tomko.

“I didn’t realize how bad it was until the MRI,” Rice explained. “I always see myself as tough—just as tough as any wide receiver can be. When it happened, I figured I was just banged up and would sit out for a play or two. But the pain hit me when I started walking. I thought I could shake it off, but this time, I couldn’t get back out there.”

Rice suffered the injury during the Chiefs’ Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. During his long recovery, he leaned on his teammates for support.

“I have guys around me who constantly remind me that I’m a great player, even if I’m not on the field right now,” Rice said. “The relationships I have with them say a lot about our character on and off the field, and I know I’m doing my job.”

Rice is expected to be ready for next season and hopes to return to form before the devastating knee injury.
