The Kansas City Chiefs made history again in the television ratings, this time in a losing effort. Super Bowl LIX earned its biggest audience, with an average of 126 million viewers tuning in for the matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The viewership total was slightly higher than last year’s Chiefs victory over the San Francisco 49ers. According to Nielsen, last year’s 123.7 million viewers were collected across CBS, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports, and the same NFL digital properties.
According to Fox Sports, viewership hit peak heights during the second quarter of the game, with an average of 135.7 million viewers between 8 and 8:15 p.m. ET. The game was televised by Fox, Fox Deportes, and Telemundo and streamed on Tubi and the league’s digital platforms.

According to FOX, the Super Bowl’s streaming viewership hit an all-time high, with 13.6 million tuning in via Tubi and just under a million using NFL+ or other NFL platforms. The Chiefs may not have had a memorable performance on the field, but their quest for the three-peat did bring additional viewers to the game.
