Everything that went down during Kansas City’s sixth training camp practice in St. Joseph.
On Monday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs returned to the practice field at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph for the fourth full practice of the team’s 2025 training camp.
This was one of 17 sessions scheduled for the team’s practice field next to MWSU’s Spratt Stadium. 10 of the remaining practices will be open to the public — click here for details and a full schedule — while one more will be open only to the team’s Season Ticket Members.
Arrowhead Pride editor-in-chief Pete Sweeney was there. He posted some observations on social media — beginning with a somewhat cooler day.
Felt a touch cooler on Monday than Sunday as Kansas City held its sixth camp practice. Practice started with temps in the low 80s that grew to the mid-80s by its conclusion.

A cornerback who went into the medical tent during Sunday’s practice was held out on Monday.
CB Kristian Fulton (knee) and TE Jake Briningstool (hamstring) once again missed practice. CB Darius Rush (hamstring) was added to the injury list, as he also missed the workout.

At least for now, the team seems to be set on the offensive line’s left side.
For the second straight day, Jawaan Taylor rotated with Jaylon Moore at right tackle. Josh Simmons continues to take every rep at left tackle, as does Kingsley Suamataia at left guard.

Two former second-round wideouts — one of them fighting to get on the roster, one of them fighting to stay on it — went through their paces.
The Chiefs started with a practice with one-on-ones. Still early, but Tyquan Thornton continues to look the part for me. Joshua Williams broke up a pass intended for Skyy Moore, but later Moore turned him around to win a rep back.

The rookie cornerback continued to shine when the team moved onto 11-on-11s.
In the first 11-on-11 period, the Chiefs ran their ones against the twos, and N. Williams nearly had a diving interception of Mahomes on a pass intended for Hollywood Brown.

The crowd was treated to a big-man score.
In an 11-on-11 period at the goal line, a Mahomes pass deflected into the air, only for … Mike Caliendo (yes) to make a diving snatch out of the air for the touchdown. The crowd near the end zone seemed to enjoy the big-man score.

…along with the punt returners.
Dave Toub had the punters boot from the end zone, and the order of returner was Niko Remigio, Skyy Moore and Brashard Smith. Toub has said he hopes the punter battle can extend into preseason games, but that will require the team to stay healthy.

Then he kept score, tallying up an offensive win during 7-on-7s.
In 7-on-7, CBs Nazeeh Johnson and Chris Roland-Wallace broke up Mahomes passes. On his completions, Mahomes hit Rashee Rice twice, Robert Tonyan, Thornton, Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

At the end of that period, a former Wisconsin Badger made a big play.
To close 7-on-7, LB Leo Chenal made an acrobatic interception. He exploded up, high-pointing a pass to deflect it in the air before securing it on the ground. Chenal popped right up and darted the other way.

The team continued to work their new players into first-string reps.
Royals and Thornton continue to be involved with the first-team offense. I noticed rookie DE Ashton Gillotte getting some more run with the first-team defense on Monday.

One of them even led quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ 11-on-11 target list.
