For the second time in the past year, Bashaud Breeland has found himself in an awful lot of trouble. According to the Charlotte Observer, he was booked into jail this past Sunday on a plethora of charges.
Not only is Breeland facing felony drug charges, he’s facing misdemeanor charges for assaulting a government official and resisting arrest.
Per the report, the police found a bag with mushrooms, five bottles of promethazine hydrochloride, and a bottle of dihydrocodeine bitartrate. Multiple firearms were also found.
Back in August, Breeland was booked into Mecklenburg County Jail. He was reportedly in possession of a stolen Mercedes-Benz SUV and multiple guns, which included two AK-47s.
Breeland, a former fourth-round pick from Clemson, played in the NFL from 2014-2021.
After spending four seasons with the Washington Commanders, Breeland joined the Green Bay Packers. He then won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 before signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
In 107 career games, Breeland has racked up 439 tackles, 86 pass break-ups, 16 interceptions and 10 forced fumbles.
The odds of Breeland joining an NFL roster anytime soon are pretty slim.
