Chiefs players take to Twitter after embarrassing defeat in Super Bowl LIX

February 10, 2025 by Chiefs Wire

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in humiliating fashion on Sunday in a lopsided Super Bowl LIX matchup, which marked the end of a potentially historic season.

The game, which could have marked the NFL’s first-ever Super Bowl three-peat, ended in a 40-22 final score in Philadelphia’s favor, making it one of the most lopsided championship games in recent history.

If not for the outstanding performance of rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy, the game’s final outcome would have been outright embarrassing for the Chiefs and their fans.

Despite the humbling loss, many of Kansas City’s players expressed gratitude after Sunday’s game in posts to Twitter.

Highlighted by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs gave a resounding sense of appreciation on social media and promised to return to the Super Bowl next season.

Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom

I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.

Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me.

We will be back.

Take a look at what the rest of the players had to say on Twitter:
