Music fans around the country, including Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Trey Smith, have been captivated by the ongoing beef between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The dispute, which has mostly been played out in rhyme, took another turn on Saturday night when Lamar, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, released his latest song “Not Like Us” via his YouTube channel.
Smith has been following the beef since it started last week and has been posting updates about his feelings on the artists’ work throughout the verbal scrap.
His reaction to the poetic spat reached a fever pitch last night after Lamar’s latest song came out, and seemed to indicate which side Smith was supporting in the ongoing fracas.
While the veteran lineman didn’t state his allegiance directly, the timing and tone of his updates on Twitter are good clues about who he thinks has won the war of words.
