The Kansas City Chiefs solved their issues at the wide receiver position during the offseason by signing Marquise “Hollywood” Brown in free agency and selecting Xavier Worthy with their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
By all accounts, general manager Brett Veach seems to have recognized the team’s need for consistency from its pass-catchers and responded swiftly.
But Chiefs fans on Twitter were divided on Veach’s decision to pass up on veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who signed with the Miami Dolphins on Friday.
Kansas City didn’t seem keen to add another receiver after drafting Worthy last week, but the appeal of bringing in Beckham to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes is obvious, if impractical.
Though the dream of having the pair re-create Beckham’s iconic one-handed catch may have died on Friday, the Chiefs seem to believe they have more than enough talent to defend their Super Bowl LVIII title next season.
