Chiefs Bounce Back in Dominant Week 4 Win, Mahomes Earns AFC Offensive Honors

October 5, 2025 by Chiefs Crowd

Kansas City shook off an 0-2 start with a statement-making 37-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, reasserting their status as Super Bowl contenders. Patrick Mahomes was magnificent, carving up Baltimore’s defense with 25 completions on 37 attempts for 270 yards and four touchdowns, earning him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for Week 4. After an uneven start, this performance reminded fans why Mahomes is a two-time league MVP.

The turning point came with the return of speedster Xavier Worthy, who led the team with 83 receiving yards on five catches and chipped in 38 rushing yards on two carries. Worthy’s presence stretched the field, opening running lanes and allowing Mahomes to operate with confidence. His deep-threat ability was on full display, forcing the Ravens to defend the entire width of the field.

Behind a revitalized offensive line, Mahomes was sacked just once and rarely pressured, finishing with a passer rating of 124.8. In his postgame comments, Mahomes praised the OL’s chemistry and growth, crediting their performance for simplifying his reads and enabling flawless execution in both run and pass schemes.

On defense, Kansas City limited Baltimore’s running game and forced Lamar Jackson from the contest late with a hamstring injury, further tilting momentum in the Chiefs’ favor. The unit allowed just 20 points—a season low for a Ravens offense that averaged over 30 per game—and created turnovers at critical junctures to set up short fields for the offense.

Looking ahead, the Chiefs will take their renewed rhythm on the road for Monday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kansas City’s final injury report listed CB Kristian Fulton and DL Omarr Norman-Lott as questionable, but other key contributors remain healthy and poised to build on the Week 4 surge. With a 2-2 record and half the division stumbling, the path to a fifth straight AFC West crown is wide open.

This Week 4 triumph sends a clear message: when fully clicking, Kansas City remains one of the NFL’s most dangerous teams. As Mahomes, Worthy, Kelce and Co. rediscover their groove, Chiefs Kingdom can brace for electric performances in the weeks ahead.
