The Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive woes looked to be a thing of the past in January’s playoffs, but with the 2024 NFL Draft set to begin next week, many in the media are predicting that the team should look to shore up its front five with their first-round pick.
Right tackle Jawaan Taylor was the object of many Chiefs fans’ angst last year, but given the massive contract he signed in the 2023 offseason, he is almost certainly going to be a part of Kansas City’s offensive line next year.
Instead, it is the left tackle spot, previously occupied by veteran Donovan Smith, that is the most likely to see a first-round upgrade.
Known as the “blindside” for right-handed quarterbacks, a good left tackle can make or break a team’s chances of being able to compete in important games, especially if an opponent has a fierce pass rush.
With this in mind, here is a list of one offensive tackle that Kansas City could select in each of the draft’s seven rounds to round out their offensive line before training camp in late July:
