The Kansas City Chiefs made a blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night.
Kansas City moved from pick No. 32 up to No. 28 in the deal, and ultimately selected Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who set the NFL combine’s 40-yard dash record with a 4.21-second run in Indianapolis back in March.
In addition to the first-round pick swap, the Chiefs and Bills also exchanged picks in later rounds, but both broke even the total number of selections they have.

After this deal, Kansas City’s outlook for the next two days of the draft has changed. Worthy’s selection was the first of seven that the Chiefs are set to make, and with a ton of talent still on the board, general manager Brett Veach is sure to find value with each pick he makes in the coming rounds.
